Joshua Radin - Winter
February 25, 2007
This song seemed to evoke the past few months perfectly — a bit melancholy, a bit plaintive, and the occasional touch of happy memory. Certainly there is no doubt that there are less sappy songs out there, but, as you probably know, I do love melodrama, and this songs has it in spades.
Well, spring slowly approaches, and things are generally looking up. I even managed to fix my weblog up and started making it more focussed and a bit more interesting. I mean, who posts on a blog anymore nowadays?
I should know who I am by now
I walk the record stand somehow
Thinkin’ of winter
The name is the splinter inside me
While I waitAnd I remember the sound
Of your November downtown
And I remember the truth
A warm December with youBut I don’t have to make this mistake
And I don’t have to stay this way
If only I would wakeThe walk has all been cleared by now
Your voice is all I hear somehow
Calling out winter
Your voice is the splinter inside me
While I waitAnd I remember the sound
Of your November downtown
And I remember the truth
A warm December with you
But I don’t have to make this mistake
And I don’t have to stay this way
If only I would wakeI could have lost myself
In rough blue waters in your eyes
And I miss you still
